RAÍZES (ROOTS)

Dance

Roots stems from a reflection on the impact of mining in Brazil, in which the world's largest technological, social, and environmental disaster, responsible for destroying Bento Rodrigues (Minas Gerais, Brazil), gains visibility. The show, of a documentary and autobiographical nature, arises from the creator's need to express himself on the subject, while rediscovering it and transporting it to the present day, in a fusion between remembering the past and preventing the future, connecting points that are similar and that may result in the same disastrous consequences.

The rediscovery of the dancer's traditions and roots takes shape through dance and the fusion of scenic elements, leading the audience to a state of permanent anticipation that reveals what may yet come, not only in Brazil, but in the world.
